Fundación Pumamaki: Guidance to conscious & sustainable practices in Ecuador

We are a non-profit organization working for the conservation of territory and the revitalization of cultural knowledge in the Amazon and the Andes of Ecuador. Our work emerges from community based processes grounded in collaboration and cooperation, recognizing that deep transformation does not arise from individual efforts, but from collective work and mutual care.

Two pillars sustain our path: teamwork and care. Care for the land, for relationships, for processes, and for the rhythms and times of each community. Over the years, attentive listening and direct work with the land have been our primary teachers, guiding the way we accompany and co-create alongside Indigenous peoples and rural communities.

We consciously position ourselves as gate keepers to ancestral Amazonian knowledge and wisdom, acting as caretakers of the processes that allow these knowledges to be shared with respect, ethics, and purpose, protecting both the communities and the territories they belong to.

For Pumamaki, what matters most is not only what we do, but how and why we do it. We work through circularity, sustained commitment, and collective effort, sharing tools and knowledge in service of the conservation of territory, of cultural wisdom, and of the life that sustains them. Each project is an expression of this way of walking together: with care, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility toward present and future generations.

Our Mission

From the Amazon rainforest to the Andean highlands all the way to the Galapagos islands, our mission is to strengthen the deep connections between people, nature, and culture.

We support community-led projects that raise awareness, promote environmental stewardship, and help protect ancestral territories and nature for future generations.

Our Vision

We envision a world where territories and cultures are preserved through collaboration, creativity, and mutual respect. By weaving connections between diverse communities, we nurture a shared consciousness rooted in art, education, and regenerative practices. Through this, we want to celebrate human diversity and co-create a future where nature and culture thrive together.
