Fundación Pumamaki: Guidance to conscious & sustainable practices in Ecuador

RSCN2246 (2).JPG

We are a non-profit organization working for the conservation of territory and the revitalization of cultural knowledge in the Amazon and the Andes of Ecuador. Our work is rooted in community based processes grounded in collaboration, cooperation, and mutual care.

Teamwork and care guide our path: care for the land, for relationships, and for the rhythms of each community. Attentive listening and direct work with the land have been our teachers, shaping how we accompany and co-create alongside Indigenous peoples and rural communities.

We position ourselves as caretakers and gatekeepers of ancestral Amazonian knowledge, supporting respectful and ethical processes for sharing wisdom while protecting communities and their territories.

For Pumamaki, what matters most is not only what we do, but how and why we do it. Through collective effort and sustained commitment, we share knowledge in service of life, cultural continuity, and the conservation of territory for present and future generations.

Our Mission

From the Amazon rainforest to the Andean highlands all the way to the Galapagos islands, our mission is to strengthen the deep connections between people, nature, and culture.

We support community-led projects that raise awareness, promote environmental stewardship, and help protect ancestral territories and nature for future generations.

Our Vision

We envision a world where territories and cultures are preserved through collaboration, creativity, and mutual respect. By weaving connections between diverse communities, we nurture a shared consciousness rooted in art, education, and regenerative practices. Through this, we want to celebrate human diversity and co-create a future where nature and culture thrive together.
