Traditional Sieko'pai Building
By supporting this community project you are helping the elders to pass on their knowledge to the younger generations, who are also being valued.
This allows them to work and earn a living in a dignified manner, without the need to succumb to extractive trades and environmental pollution, contributing to the conservation of their territory and their own culture
The dream of building a new traditional
Sieko’pai house
Basilio is a wise and loving Sieko'pai elder from Remolino community, is passing down his ancestral knowledge to his children and grandchildren through the construction of one of the few traditionally built houses. As the younger generations learn to harvest wood, gather leaves, weave, and build, Basilio shares traditional stories and myths. This ceremonial house will remain a place for ongoing cultural transmission.
For years, Basilio has shared his wisdom and medicine with locals and visitors. Keeping this ancient tradition alive has been challenging, but thanks to collective efforts, these meaningful ceremonies still echo through the jungle, honoring and caring for Life.

Long work journeys where everyone is able to rediscover the richness of a breathtaking territory and culture and where the myths and stories of this unique tradition also come back to life.
What has been achieved
With the funds raised from the groups that visited the Sieko'pai community in Remolino in January and August 2024, it has been possible to start preparing the land, gathering data, constructing the traditional house structure and starting the roof weaving.
So far, we have been able to build the entire structure and complete 50% of the roof woven with Pui leaves. With your help, we’ll be able to finish the remaining roof and final details so the house can be used by the family and visitors.
